Time in Nature sessions offered to people with dementia and their carers

The sessions run in partnership with Dignity in Dementia, seek to help with the wellbeing of people with dementia and their carers.

The Bay are helping to run two of Cumbria Wildlife Trust's 'Time in Nature' sessions, which are happening around Cumbria in partnership with the charity Dignity in Dementia.

The sessions utilise a variety of different activities to promote wellbeing, linking back to the 5 ways to wellbeing, such as taking notice, and connecting with others, in some natural yet accessible settings.

There have been sessions running for the past month, with Yolanda Aze, Community Engagement Officer running sessions from Cumbria Wildlife Trust HQ near Kendal, and Jessica Mordain, Nature and Wellbeing Officer running sessions from How Tun Woods in Barrow.

As the number of people living with dementia is growing, Dignity in Dementia wants to help people by making sure their lives are as positive and normal as possible with education for carers, dementia embracing community groups and behavioural support.
